Fue una cantante, actriz, compositora y activista estadounidense. Logr\u00f3 su mayor \u00e9xito con el tema \u00abIt’s My Party\u00bb, el cual alcanz\u00f3 el puesto n\u00famero 1 en el Billboard Hot 100 en 1963.<\/p>\n

La mayor\u00eda de los \u00e9xitos de Gore fueron producidos por Quincy Jones, quien se convertir\u00eda luego en uno de los productores m\u00e1s prestigiosos de la historia del pop. Posteriormente, compuso m\u00fasica para bandas sonoras como la de la pel\u00edcula Fame, de 1980, nominada a los Premios \u00d3scar a la mejor canci\u00f3n por el tema \u00abOut of here on my own\u00bb. Su tema \u00abYou Don’t Own Me\u00bb (1964), que se convirti\u00f3 en un himno del movimiento feminista, fue popularizado nuevamente en 1996 en la pel\u00edcula The First Wives Club por Bette Midler, Diane Keaton y Goldie Hawn.<\/p>\n

was an American singer, actress, songwriter, and activist. He achieved his greatest success with the song “It’s My Party,” which reached number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1963.<\/p>\n

Most of Gore’s hits were produced by Quincy Jones, who would later become one of the most prestigious producers in pop history. Subsequently, he composed music for soundtracks such as that of the 1980 film Fame, nominated for the Oscars for best song for the song “Out of here on my own.” Her song “You Don’t Own Me” (1964), which became an anthem of the feminist movement, was popularized again in 1996 in the movie The First Wives Club by Bette Midler, Diane Keaton and Goldie Hawn.<\/p>\n

In 2005, she released her latest album, Ever Since, after her fame waned slightly in the 1980s and 1990s and she dedicated herself to offering concerts and television appearances. Gore confirmed that he was gay in a television documentary for PBS in 2005. He had been with his partner, Lois Sasson, for more than three decades.<\/p>\n

Lesley Gore passed away on February 16, 2015, victim of a cancer that had been battling for a long time.<\/p>\n
