Luis Barrios Rojas, m\u00e1s conocido como Lucho Barrios, fue un popular cantante peruano de boleros, de gran popularidad en casi toda Hispanoam\u00e9rica, nacido en el Callao un 22 de abril del 1935 donde se crio hasta los 9 a\u00f1os y despu\u00e9s en Calle Penitencia 324 Jr. Paruro en Los Barrios Altos cuna de grandes artistas y cantores. Como aficionado al canto fue comenzando su carrera art\u00edstica, y a los 17 a\u00f1os ingresa a la escuela nacional de opera para prepararse hasta los 19, estudio junto a el maestro Alejandro Vivanco (primo de Ima Sumac) quienes conformaban el grupo folcl\u00f3rico Pacha Mama, aun siendo aficionado all\u00e1 por los 50 participo en el concurso Escalera del Triunfo que se realizaba en los teatros y el director era el gran periodista Guido Monteverde en el cual quedo finalista. Luego formo en trio Los Incas junto a Paco Maceda (director de Los Kipus) y Modesto Pastor (del tr\u00edo Los Morunos) el cual duro muy poco. Luego como solista grabo discos sencillos con el sello disquero Smith, Edith Barr seria quien lo llevara a Radio Callao donde en los programas de auditorio conoci\u00f3 a Julio Jaramillo quien lo invito a cantar al Ecuador. Despu\u00e9s de muchos sufrimientos logro grabar sus primeros discos y uno se sus primeros \u00e9xitos fue el vals “Juanita”. Ya con fama ganada en Ecuador regresa en 1960 al Peru donde graba boleros que lo llevaron al \u00e9xito total como Marabu, Me enga\u00f1as mujer, Mentirosa, Te alejas, Copas de Licor, entre otros. Recorre Bolivia y Venezuela, sus discos grabados en Ecuador llegan a todo Centro Am\u00e9rica, el 18 de septiembre de 1960 se presenta por primera vez en La Quinta El Rosedal de Arica, Chile junto con la orquesta del Puma Valdez de Cuba con un auditorio de mas de 1000 personas en cada presentaci\u00f3n.<\/div>\n

En 1961 volvi\u00f3 a Chile y en Santiago grabo en LP creciendo aun mas su fama en Chile, Argentina, M\u00e9xico y USA. Entre los muchos premios recibidos uno que mas satisfacciones le da es la que le otorgo la OEA por su trabajo en favor del acercamiento de los pueblos por medio del Arte. 15 de Noviembre de 1988 el Teatro Olimpia de Paris (hoy convertido en museo) donde se presentaron grandes figuras como Frank Sinatra, Lucho Barrios llevo nuestra m\u00fasica peruana as\u00ed como tambi\u00e9n boleros y m\u00fasica de Chile y Ecuador.<\/div>\n

Lucho Barrios ha viajado por casi todo el mundo y el a\u00f1o 2002 el Gobierno del Presidente Lagos de Chile lo condecora por ser un artista peruano ejemplar. Lleva en su haber 48 a\u00f1os de vida art\u00edstica y espera celebrar a lo grande sus bodas de oro art\u00edstica. Lucho Barrios vive agradecido a todo su publico que a lo largo de estos a\u00f1os lo quiere y apoya en sus presentaciones. Su cancion favorita es Mi Ni\u00f1a Bonita la cual dedico a todas las mujeres del mundo que es lo mas lindo que Dios ha Creado.<\/div>\n

El 3 de mayo de 2010 fue ingresado por emergencia en el Hospital Nacional Dos de Mayo en Lima, a causa de un tromboembolismo pulmonar, manteni\u00e9ndose en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos en condici\u00f3n grave y en riesgo vital, hasta su fallecimiento dos d\u00edas despu\u00e9s, a las 7:32 de la ma\u00f1ana producto de una falla multiorg\u00e1nica el 5 de mayo de 2010, a la edad de 75 a\u00f1os. Sus restos fueron velados en el Museo de la Naci\u00f3n.<\/div>\n

Luis Barrios Rojas, better known as Lucho Barrios, was a popular Peruvian bolero singer, of great popularity in almost all of Latin America, he was born in Callao on April 22, 1935 where he grew up until he was 9 years old and later in Calle Penitencia 324 Jr Paruro in Los Barrios Altos cradle of great artists and singers. As a fan of singing, he began his artistic career, and at 17 he entered the national opera school to prepare until he was 19, he studied with the teacher Alejandro Vivanco (cousin of Ima Sumac) who made up the folk group Pacha Mama, even though he was A fan back in his 50s, he participated in the Escalera del Triunfo contest that was held in theaters and the director was the great journalist Guido Monteverde in which he was a finalist. Then he formed a trio Los Incas with Paco Maceda (director of Los Kipus) and Modesto Pastor (of the trio Los Morunos) which lasted very little. Later as a soloist he recorded single records with the Smith record label, Edith Barr would be the one who would take him to Radio Callao where in the auditorium programs he met Julio Jaramillo who invited him to sing to Ecuador. After much suffering, he managed to record his first albums and one of his first hits was the waltz “Juanita”. Already with fame earned in Ecuador, he returned to Peru in 1960 where he recorded boleros that led him to total success such as Marabu, Me dece\u00f1as mujer, Mentirosa, Te alejas, Copas de Licor, among others. He travels through Bolivia and Venezuela, his records recorded in Ecuador reach all of Central America, on September 18, 1960 El Rosedal de Arica, Chile was presented for the first time in La Quinta along with the Puma Valdez de Cuba orchestra with an audience of more of 1000 people in each presentation.<\/div>\n

In 1961 he returned to Chile and in Santiago he recorded on LP, growing even more his fame in Chile, Argentina, Mexico and the USA. Among the many awards received, one that gives him the most satisfaction is the one awarded him by the OAS for his work in favor of the rapprochement of peoples through Art. November 15, 1988 the Olimpia Theater in Paris (now a museum) where great figures such as Frank Sinatra, Lucho Barrios performed, brought our Peruvian music as well as boleros and music from Chile and Ecuador.<\/div>\n

Lucho Barrios has traveled almost all over the world and in 2002 the Government of President Lagos de Chile honored him for being an exemplary Peruvian artist. He has 48 years of artistic life under his belt and hopes to celebrate his artistic golden anniversary in style. Lucho Barrios lives grateful to all his public who throughout these years love him and support him in his presentations. Her favorite song is My Pretty Girl, which she dedicates to all the women in the world, who is the most beautiful thing that God has created.<\/div>\n

On May 3, 2010, he was admitted as an emergency to the Dos de Mayo National Hospital in Lima, due to a pulmonary thromboembolism, remaining in the Intensive Care Unit in serious condition and at risk of life, until his death two days later, at 7:32 am due to a multi-organ failure on May 5, 2010, at the age of 75. His remains were veiled in the Museum of the Nation.<\/div>\n
