Una semana despu\u00e9s, era lanzado el primer compacto de Jorge Ben. Su ritmo h\u00edbrido le trajo algunos problemas al inicio, cuando la m\u00fasica brasile\u00f1a estaba dividida entre la Jovem Guarda y el samba tradicional, de letras engajadas. Al pasar a tener inter\u00e9s por la m\u00fasica, el artista vivi\u00f3 una \u00e9poca en la cual la bossa nova gozaba de un gran \u00e9xito en el mundo. Sus primeras presentaciones p\u00fablicas fueron en fiestas de amigos, regadas por bossa nova y rock. Como la mayor\u00eda de los m\u00fasicos de entonces, fue inicialmente influenciado por Jo\u00e3o Gilberto, pero ya desde el inicio fue bastante innovador. La canci\u00f3n mencionada previamente, M\u00e1s que Nada, fue su primer gran \u00e9xito en Brasil, y tambi\u00e9n uno de los temas musicales en lengua portuguesa m\u00e1s populares en los Estados Unidos hasta los d\u00edas de hoy. En 1989, Jorge Ben cambi\u00f3 de discogr\u00e1fica y tambi\u00e9n de nombre art\u00edstico, que fue modificado a Jorge Benjor (o Jorge Ben Jor). He often includes esoteric themes in his songs.<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">He had his first pandeiro at the age of thirteen and, two years later, he was already singing in a church choir, but he wanted to be a soccer player, becoming a member of the children&#8217;s and youth team of the Clube de Regatas do Flamengo. He also participated as a pandeiro player in carnival blocks. By becoming interested in music, the artist lived through a time in which bossa nova enjoyed great success in the world. His first public presentations were at friends&#8217; parties, watered by bossa nova and rock.
