Fue un m\u00fasico estadounidense, m\u00e1s conocido por ser el baterista de Elvis Presley durante catorce a\u00f1os. Junto a Presley, Fontana toc\u00f3 en 460 grabaciones de RCA Records.<\/div>\n

Apodado D. J, fue contratado por el programa radial y televisivo Louisiana Hayride para ser baterista de sesi\u00f3n en la difusi\u00f3n radiof\u00f3nica de los s\u00e1bados. En octubre de 1954, fue contratado para tocar la bater\u00eda en una sesi\u00f3n de Elvis Presley, lo que marc\u00f3 el comienzo de una relaci\u00f3n de casi quince a\u00f1os. Was an American musician, best known for being the drummer for Elvis Presley for fourteen years. Along with Presley, Fontana played on 460 RCA Records recordings.<\/div>\n

Nicknamed D. J. \u201dwas hired by the Louisiana Hayride television and radio show to be a session drummer on the Saturday radio broadcast. In October 1954, he was hired to play drums at an Elvis Presley session, marking the beginning of a nearly fifteen-year relationship. He played on the NBC television special ’68 Comeback Special. Fontana joined a band, originally assembled by Sam Phillips without drums, with Scotty Moore on guitar, Bill Black on bass, and Elvis himself, who called himself The Blue Moon Boys. The group became Elvis’s main endorsement during his recordings in the 1950s as “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Hound Dog,” “Don’t Be Cruel,” and “Jailhouse Rock,” among others. The group also frequently toured with Presley and appeared on various television shows with the musician including the Ed Sullivan Show in 1956 and 1957.<\/div>\n

The group officially broke up in 1958, although Fontana and Elvis continued to work together for much of the next decade, sometimes alongside Moore. Moore and Fontana also returned to play together in 2002 on a new recording of “That’s All Right Mama” with Paul McCartney.
