Fue un cantante de jazz estadounidense. Destac\u00f3 por su versatilidad y originalidad, y por su apertura a diferentes estilos (soul, rhythm and blues, y pop, entre otros) e influencias diversas (Nat King Cole, especialmente). Ganador de varios Grammys, su voz se hizo popularmente conocida al interpretar el tema central de la serie de televisi\u00f3n en los 80 Luz de luna.<\/div>\n

Jarreau altern\u00f3 desde ni\u00f1o su inter\u00e9s por la m\u00fasica con los estudios de psicolog\u00eda, que fue su primera profesi\u00f3n (se gradu\u00f3 como psic\u00f3logo en 1962 como licenciado en psicolog\u00eda, y obtuvo su maestr\u00eda en rehabilitaci\u00f3n vocacional en la Universidad de Iowa), al ejercer en San Francisco como consejero rehabilitador durante cuatro a\u00f1os, ayudando a personas con problemas de alcoholismo, adicciones, esclerosis m\u00faltiple o amputaciones.<\/div>\n

Musicalmente, su primera experiencia musical fue en el grupo The Indigos, un grupo de aficionados que se sent\u00edan influidos por Lambert, Hendricks y Ross, y otros vocalistas.<\/div>\n

En 2011, Al Jarreau fue invitado en el nuevo disco Eumir Deodato con dos canciones y todo el disco est\u00e1 producido por el equipo italiano de Lino y Pino Nicolosi. La canci\u00f3n “Double Face” escrita por Nicolosi, Al Jarreau y Deodato, entra en las listas de reproducci\u00f3n de muchas emisoras de radio en Europa y los EE. UU.<\/div>\n

He was an American jazz singer. He stood out for his versatility and originality, and for his openness to different styles (soul, rhythm and blues, and pop, among others) and various influences (Nat King Cole, especially). Winner of several Grammys, his voice became popularly known when performing the theme song of the 1980s television series Moonlight.<\/div>\n

Since childhood Jarreau alternated his interest in music with the studies of psychology, which was his first profession (he graduated as a psychologist in 1962 with a degree in psychology, and obtained his master’s degree in vocational rehabilitation at the University of Iowa), when practicing in San Francisco as a rehabilitation counselor for four years, helping people with alcoholism problems, addictions, multiple sclerosis or amputations.<\/div>\n
