Diego Antonio Caccia Torres conocido como Diego Torres es un cantautor argentino. Naci\u00f3 en Buenos Aires el 9 de marzo de 1971. Hijo de la popular cantante argentina Lolita Torres.<\/p>\n

Su comienzo musical fue con la banda “La Marca”. En 1991 di\u00f3 sus primeros pasos por la TV, protagonizando la exitosa tira “La Banda del Golden Rocket”, que se mantuvo en el aire durante 3 a\u00f1os. En 1992 apareci\u00f3 su primer disco “Diego Torres”, producido art\u00edsticamente por Cachorro L\u00f3pez. Esta placa vendi\u00f3 200.000 unidades, impulsado por los hits “Estamos juntos”, “Alguien la vio partir o “Puedo decir que s\u00ed”.<\/p>\n

“Tratar de Estar Mejor” (1994), el segundo de sus discos, signific\u00f3 su consagraci\u00f3n definitiva. Mezclando el reggae, la balada, el funk, “Deja de pedir perd\u00f3n” y “San Salvador”, adem\u00e1s del tema hom\u00f3nimo, resultaron los hits m\u00e1s importantes. Torres result\u00f3 ser el artista argentino de mayores ventas y m\u00e1s convocatoria del ’94 y ’95: s\u00f3lo en Argentina vendi\u00f3 430.000 copias.<\/p>\n

Una gran gira latinoamericana lo catapult\u00f3 fuera de las fronteras de Argentina, y en el ’95 fue convocado en Espa\u00f1a para participar en el disco homenaje a Joan Manuel Serrat, para el cual aport\u00f3 “Pen\u00e9lope”.<\/p>\n

“Luna nueva” fue editado simult\u00e1neamente con su primer protag\u00f3nico en el cine, en el film “La furia”, dirigido por Juan Bautista Stagnaro. La pel\u00edcula fue la m\u00e1s vista del a\u00f1o en Argentina: 1.300.000 espectadores. En agosto del ’97 este material fue presentado en vivo, a lo largo de ocho shows en el Teatro Opera.<\/p>\n

“Tal cual es” (1999) ser\u00eda otro \u00e9xito, aunque levemente menor a los precedentes. El hit fue “Qu\u00e9 ser\u00e1”.<\/p>\n

“Un mundo diferente” es un disco de puro optimismo. Editado en uno de los momentos m\u00e1s duros de la Argentina, sus letras llaman a creer en que se puede mejorar. Ejemplo m\u00e1ximo es “Color esperanza”, primer corte difusi\u00f3n, o “Sue\u00f1os”. Muy emotivo resulta “A trav\u00e9s del tiempo”, el tema que cierra la placa, dedicado a su amigo Fernando Olmedo, muerto en un accidente automovil\u00edstico.<\/p>\n

“MTV Unplugged”, el concierto ac\u00fastico producido y editado en sociedad con la cadena televisiva, permite a Diego Torres extender sus fronteras. Entre los invitados en el concierto Unplugged figuran Julieta Venegas, Vicentico y La Chilinga. “Cantar hasta morir” es el nombre del primer corte difusi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

Diego Antonio Caccia Torres known as Diego Torres is an Argentine singer-songwriter. He was born in Buenos Aires on March 9, 1971. Son of the popular Argentine singer Lolita Torres.<\/p>\n

His musical beginning was with the band “La Marca”. In 1991 he took his first steps on TV, starring in the successful strip “The Golden Rocket Band”, which was on the air for 3 years. In 1992 his first album “Diego Torres” appeared, artistically produced by Cachorro L\u00f3pez. This plate sold 200,000 units, fueled by the hits “We are together”, “Someone saw her leave” or “I can say yes”.<\/p>\n

“Trying to be Better” (1994), the second of his albums, meant his definitive consecration. Mixing reggae, ballads, funk, “Stop asking for forgiveness” and “San Salvador”, in addition to the homonymous theme, were the most important hits. Torres turned out to be the best-selling and most popular Argentine artist of ’94 and ’95: in Argentina alone he sold 430,000 copies.<\/p>\n

A great Latin American tour catapulted him beyond the borders of Argentina, and in ’95 he was summoned to Spain to participate in the tribute album to Joan Manuel Serrat, for which he contributed “Pen\u00e9lope”.<\/p>\n

“New Moon” was published simultaneously with his first leading role in the cinema, in the film “La furia”, directed by Juan Bautista Stagnaro. The film was the most viewed of the year in Argentina: 1,300,000 viewers. In August ’97 this material was presented live, throughout eight shows at the Opera Theater.<\/p>\n

“As it is” (1999) would be another success, although slightly less than the previous ones. The hit was “What will be.”<\/p>\n

“A different world” is an album of pure optimism. Edited in one of the hardest moments in Argentina, its lyrics call to believe that it can be improved. Maximum example is “Hope color”, diffusion first cut, or “Dreams”. Very emotional is “Through time”, the theme that closes the plate, dedicated to his friend Fernando Olmedo, who died in a car accident.<\/p>\n

“MTV Unplugged”, the acoustic concert produced and edited in partnership with the television network, allows Diego Torres to extend his borders. Among the guests at the Unplugged concert are Julieta Venegas, Vicentico and La Chilinga. “Sing to death” is the name of the first broadcast cut.<\/p>\n
